Overview
Poten-C® is available in current 500 mg capsule and 1,000 mg tablet formulas. Both provide vitamin C in a combination of ascorbic acid and buffered mineral ascorbates together with pectin and small amounts of minerals.
Evidence Note
Vitamin C is required for normal collagen synthesis, antioxidant defense, and immune physiology. The buffered form may be easier to tolerate for some individuals, but manufacturer claims that the added minerals or bioflavonoids increase vitamin C 'effectiveness by 50%' should not be interpreted as an established clinical outcome.
Current Formula Options
- Poten-C® 500: Vitamin C — 500 mg per capsule; suggested use 1 capsule 1–3 times daily with food.
- Poten-C® 1000: Vitamin C — 1,000 mg per tablet; suggested use 1 tablet with each meal.
Important Safety Considerations
- Higher vitamin C intakes can cause gastrointestinal upset or diarrhea in some individuals.
- Use clinician guidance if you have a history of recurrent kidney stones, significant kidney disease, or disorders of iron overload.
- Review the exact bottle strength before dosing because the 500 mg and 1,000 mg products have different serving directions.
