Overview
Pro-Gest® Fragrance-Free contains USP progesterone at 20 mg per ¼ teaspoon (450 mg per ounce). Progesterone is a biologically active steroid hormone. This product should therefore be treated as hormone therapy support rather than as a general wellness cream or a non-hormonal supplement.
 
Evidence Note
Clinical trials of over-the-counter transdermal progesterone creams have produced mixed results for menopausal symptoms. Some trials reported improvement in vasomotor symptoms, while others found no benefit over placebo. Topical progesterone is systemically absorbed, but absorption is variable, and over-the-counter progesterone cream should not be assumed to provide reliable endometrial protection when estrogen therapy is used.

Suggested Use
