Overview
FolaPro® provides L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (L-5-MTHF), the biologically active form of folate. Folate is required for DNA synthesis, red blood cell formation, methyl-group transfer, and normal homocysteine metabolism.
 
Evidence Note
L-5-MTHF is directly usable without requiring conversion through MTHFR. This does not mean everyone with an MTHFR variant needs high-dose methylfolate, and genotype alone should not determine supplementation. Folate can lower homocysteine, but homocysteine lowering does not automatically translate into lower cardiovascular event risk.

Suggested Use
Take 1 tablet daily, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner.

Consult your healthcare practitioner if pregnant, nursing, or taking medications.
Folate can interact with medications that affect folate metabolism, including some anticonvulsants and antifolate therapies.
Use clinician guidance when taking higher-dose folate for a specific medical reason.
